I would have moved here in 1952, and changed schools from Hemel Hempstead to Aylesbury Grammer School. Learnt quite a bit about farming. One photo shows me working out how to pull the tractor that my father (climbing up the bank) had driven into the gully that was the boundary between our farm and the grass airfield at RAF Halton.
This photo must have been taken just after we moved in as one of the first things that my father did was to paint all the roofs with red oxide.
My tractor is just behind the men and with chains I pulled the “ditched” one out. When I had it back on the level I made the mistake of starting it without waiting for the engine oil to flow back into the sump. That sprayed all those around with hot, dirty engine oil. That did not make me popular and I never made that mistake again!
