There is a great progamme on the BBC this week (week9) in the series “Our World”. The subject is the upcoming Russian Election and features Ksenia Sobchak running against Vladimir Putin.
I was surprised that Vladimir Soloviev (P) was not mentioned in it.
The programme clearly demonstrates how the system operates in Russia. I did not use the word “works”, I think “operates” is a more applicable. It’s like a modified game of chess. The various players have different powers and moves and until you understand that, you understand nothing.
It is now January 2021 and much has happened since I wrote the above. Trump has gone although his real dealings with Putin may become exposed as the inquires about his affairs (not sexual) are investigated further.
Putin is still trying to poison people and a large swathe of the Russian people are demonstrating that they are fed up with him playing latter day Stalin.
We shall see.
