Why this website?
This website has been produced as a result of people asking me why I haven’t written a book about my experiences, the people that I have met and their influence on my life.
I have also been asked by my children to document my life since there has been much that they have not known about due to my many absences doing business around the world, plus they were often at boarding school and away from home too.
At this point in my life I try to follow the viewpoint of the Dalai Lama, who, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered “Man. Because man sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices
money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then he dies having never really lived.”
On trying to unravel it.
I have a large cardboard box in my shed full of wires. There are power cables, microphone cables, bell wire, TV coaxial cables, flat twin flex, multicore cables, telephone wire, the list goes on.
If you try to pull out one wire or cable you get six more. They are interwoven, just like my life.
